The surface and the type of work of the vehicle on the site
If the terrain and operations of the heavy machinery involves frequent ascents and descents, as well as constant driving over extremely uneven terrain, fluctuations in the fuel chart are inevitable. This can also lead to the display of false fuel-ups and/or drains.
Specifics of the vehicle's fuel system itself
In some vehicles, there may be additional tanks between the fuel tank and the engine where fuel is pumped in before actual consumption, which can cause drains on the graph or sudden drops in the fuel level.
Non-standard shape of the fuel tank
Many kinds of heavy machinery are equipped with fuel tanks that have a flat shape, which increases the sensitivity of fuel sensors when fuel fluctuates during driving.
The irregular shape of the tank at a certain point can also cause sharp fluctuations in fuel level data during driving.
Fuel changes as a result of transportation of the vehicle on a trailer
When heavy machinery units are transported on a trailer, changes in the fuel level may also be displayed both during and after transportation. This depends on the ignition settings and the type of fuel level detection in the tank (Mapon fuel sensor or CAN bus).
