Vehicle group

It is a classification within a platform that allows users to conveniently manage and access data from multiple vehicles (or units) simultaneously. Instead of selecting individual vehicles one by one, users can choose a vehicle group to efficiently retrieve and analyze data from all the vehicles included in that group.

Depot

It is a management entity used to group vehicles and drivers, typically for organizational purposes such as dividing vehicles into sub-companies. It is particularly useful for tasks like downloading digital tachograph files, which are linked to separate digital tachograph company cards. Beyond this, a depot can also serve as a flexible grouping mechanism for vehicles, offering an alternative to the sub-company division.

Considering information in the table, differences between these two are:

  • Vehicles/units can only belong to ONE depot, but they can belong to multiple Vehicle groups.

  • Depots can have an object assigned to them, so they are also used to mark a territory on the map where vehicles should be.

  • Vehicle groups cannot have an object assigned to them, the use of vehicle groups is mostly to select multiple vehicles at once, in multiple of our solutions and features.
