What is 'iButton'?
Updated over a week ago

An iButton is a small physical chip used for driver identification and authorization in vehicles. This chip pairs with a reader connected to a tracking device, enabling the system to automatically recognize the driver and assign them to the vehicle within the Mapon platform.

The setup process requires entering the unique ID of the iButton into the driver's profile on the Mapon platform. This ensures that the system correctly identifies the driver whenever the iButton is scanned.

With the iButton in place, accurate tracking of the driver's activity and vehicle performance is possible, ensuring that the right driver is always linked to the correct vehicle for monitoring and analysis.

You will find more information in the Driver Authorization & Assignment.
