What is 'idling'?
Updated today

Idling happens when a vehicle’s engine is running (ignition on), but the vehicle isn’t moving.

We consider idling excessive when the vehicle stays in this state for more than the set time limit (usually 2 minutes by default). Excessive idling wastes fuel, increases maintenance costs, and isn’t great for the environment.

You may see this status in some of our solutions like Fleet efficiency, which presents the "Average daily idle time"
