How to create a task in "Tasks and routes"

Updated over 2 weeks ago

You can create a new task in the Task and routes solution in three ways — from the vehicle list, after clicking a vehicle from the list, or directly within a planned or drafted route.

From the vehicle list

📘 This option is available only for vehicles without an active route or those finishing their last task.

To create a task from the main vehicle list:

  1. Go to Online Map and click the "Tasks" tab.

  2. Find a vehicle without a task and click the "+ Plan a task" button. This vehicle can be changed later.

  3. A floating window will appear on the map. Switch the vehicle if needed, and enter the address where the task should be performed.

  4. Assign the task to a route or keep it as a draft:

    • Assigned to route – to add it to a specific planned route.

    • Drafts – to keep it as an unplanned task.

  5. Choose the type of task that will be performed (the task type by default will be "Loading").

  6. Select the due date and time. Optionally, select a client, choose a trailer for the truck, choose documents to scan to complete the task, add driver instructions, or enter an order ID.

📘 The dropdown list is fixed for now. It uses Mapon’s standard task document types. To add your own types, please use our API with your TMS when you create tasks.

  7. Click Save to create the task.
