How to navigate between Task locations in the Mapon Driver app

Updated over 2 weeks ago

🔔 Currently, in-app navigation can only be used for route task locations. You cannot set your own custom destinations.

Mapon’s in-app navigation, powered by HERE maps, allows you to drive using only the routes suitable for your vehicle type (taking into account weight, size, and speed restrictions). Navigation uses your mobile device’s GPS, not the vehicle’s tracking device, so make sure GPS is always turned ON.

Start the Navigation

To start the navigation to your next task:

  1. Open the Mapon Driver app.

  2. On the main Dashboard, tap View task to open your next planned task.

  3. Review the task and tap Start task at the bottom.

🔔 If the destination address is incorrect, do not start the task. Contact your dispatcher to update it. If the task has already been started, either mark it as completed yourself or ask your dispatcher to close it and create a new task for you.

  4. You will be redirected to the map showing your current location and the task destination.

✅ Loading may take a few seconds.

  5. Below the map, one or more route options will appear.

📘 Before starting navigation, adjust the map settings if needed by tapping the layer icon on the right to switch map types — we recommend using the default map (not satellite) for the clearest route view — and enabling or disabling compass mode to orient the map in the same direction your phone is facing.

  6. To begin navigation:

    • Tap the play button to start immediately with the suggested route, or

    • Tap a route option to view the full list of directions, then tap Start guidance if everything looks correct.

Navigation features

While using navigation, you can:

  • Switch between 3D view and a standard map view.

  • Adjust voice notifications — choose all, only important ones, or turn them off completely.

  • See the current speed limit in the bottom-left corner of the map.

  • Swipe up the bottom panel to access additional options:

    • Turn speeding alerts on or off.

    • Switch between Online and Offline maps to save mobile data.

    • Change between Light and Dark mode depending on the time of day.

Resume navigation for a task

If you have closed the app or the task, you can resume navigation by following these steps:

  1. On the main Dashboard, tap View task, or

  2. Tap the file & checkmark icon at the bottom.

  3. Open the current task in progress at the top of the list by tapping View task.

  4. Tap Navigate at the bottom to continue navigation to the task location.

End navigation

If you no longer need navigation, tap the X at the bottom and confirm by selecting Cancel guidance.
