What does the "tachograph block" show?

The "Tachograph" block in the Online Map section's data panel (after selecting a vehicle with tachograph data) can show driving and rest time predictions.

These are estimates that answer practical questions:

  • How long has the driver been driving without a break?

  • How much driving time is left today?

  • How much driving time is left this week?

  • When must the next daily rest begin?

  • When must the next weekly rest begin?

  • How many driving extensions and rest reductions have been used?

These predictions are based on EU driving and rest time rules (Regulation (EC) No 561/2006), which set limits and requirements for drivers’ driving times, breaks, and rest periods.


Card slots

At the top of the Tachograph block, you can see the vehicle’s driver card slots.

These show which driver cards are currently detected by the tachograph and the driver associated with each card. If no card is detected in a slot, it is shown as No driver / NO CARD.

📘 A red "NO CARD" status indicates that a driver is associated with the vehicle, but their driver card is not currently detected in the tachograph.


Now

The Now tile gives you an overview of the driver's current activity and how much time remains before the next required break or rest.

The icon indicates the driver's current tachograph activity, such as driving, other work, availability, or rest.

  • Main value — when the driver is not resting, shows the accumulated work-related activity, which can include driving, other work, and availability. When the driver is resting, it shows how long the current rest has lasted.

  • Smaller value — shows the calculated time remaining before the next required break or rest.

  • Progress bar — indicates progress towards the next required break or rest.

Example — When driver is active

In this, the block shows the circular active icon:

  • 2h 27min — shows the driver's accumulated work-related activity
    (this can include driving, other work and availability since the last rest).

  • 2h 2min — shows the calculated time remaining before the driver needs to take the next required break/rest.

  • Progress bar — fills as the driver gets closer to the required break. It turns red when the limit is reached or exceeded.

So, in this example, the driver has accumulated 2h 27min of activity and has approximately 2h 2min remaining before the next required break/rest.

📘 When the driver is active, the main value (in the Now tile) shows accumulated work-related activity. When the driver is resting, it shows how long the current rest has lasted.


Today (Current Shift)

The Today tile shows the driver's total driving time during the current shift and how much driving time is still available before reaching the daily driving limit.

Despite the name, "Today" does not refer to the current calendar day. A shift is the period between two daily or weekly rest periods, so it can continue across midnight.

A break during the shift, such as a 45-minute break, does not start a new shift.

  • Main value — total driving time during the current shift.

  • Smaller value — driving time remaining before the driver's daily driving limit is reached.

  • Progress bar — shows how much of the available daily driving time has been used.

In this example:

  • 7h 3min — the driver has accumulated 7 hours and 3 minutes of driving during the current shift.

  • 2h 56min — the driver has approximately 2 hours and 56 minutes of driving time remaining in the shift.

  • Progress bar — shows how much of the available daily driving time has been used. It fills as the driver accumulates driving time and turns red when the limit is reached or exceeded.

A shift is the period between two daily or weekly rest periods, rather than midnight-to-midnight. For example, if a driver's shift begins in the evening and continues after midnight, the Today value does not reset simply because the calendar date changes. A 45-minute break during the shift also does not start a new shift.

📘In short: Today shows how much the driver has driven during the current shift, while the smaller value shows approximately how much more driving is available before the daily driving limit is reached.


10h Driving

The 10h Driving tile shows how many times the driver has used an extended daily driving period during the current week.

Daily driving is normally limited to 9 hours, but it can be extended to 10 hours up to twice per week.

  • Counter — shows the number of 10-hour driving extensions already used out of the 2 allowed per week.

  • Progress bar — shows how many of the available extensions have been used.

Example:

0/2 means the driver has not used any of their two available 10-hour driving extensions yet.


9h rest

The 9h Rest tile shows how many reduced daily rest periods the driver has used.

A regular daily rest is normally 11 hours, but it can be reduced to at least 9 hours up to three times between two weekly rest periods.

  • Counter — shows the number of reduced daily rests already used out of the 3 allowed.

  • Progress bar — shows how many of the available reduced daily rests have been used.

Example:

0/3 means the driver has not used any of their three available reduced daily rests yet.


Daily rest start

The Daily Rest Start tile shows the latest time by which the driver must begin their next daily rest.

It is a deadline, not the expected time the driver will finish their work.

  • Main value — the latest calculated time by which the driver must start their daily rest.

  • Smaller value — the time remaining until that deadline.

  • Progress bar — fills as the driver gets closer to the deadline and turns red if the deadline is reached or has passed.

Example:

9:01 PM with 7h 50min underneath means the driver must start their daily rest by 9:01 PM, with 7 hours and 50 minutes remaining until that deadline.


This week

The This Week tile shows the driver's total driving time during the current calendar week and how much driving time remains before reaching the weekly limit of 56 hours. The calendar week runs from Monday to Sunday.

  • Main value — total driving time accumulated during the current week.

  • Smaller value — driving time remaining before the 56-hour weekly limit is reached.

  • Progress bar — shows how much of the weekly driving allowance has been used.

Example: 5h 18min with 50h 41min underneath means the driver has accumulated 5 hours and 18 minutes of driving this week, with approximately 50 hours and 41 minutes remaining before reaching the weekly limit.


Next week

The Next Week tile shows the driver's estimated driving time available for the next calendar week. This is based on the rule that a driver can drive a maximum of 90 hours across any two consecutive weeks.

Unlike This Week, this tile does not show time already driven and time remaining separately.

  • Main value — the estimated amount of driving time the driver can have available next week.

  • Progress bar — provides a visual indication of the calculated allowance.

The available time can change as the driver accumulates more driving time during the current week.

Example: 56h means the driver is currently calculated to have up to 56 hours of driving available next week.


Weekly rest start

The Weekly Rest Start tile shows the latest date and time by which the driver must begin their next weekly rest. It is a deadline, rather than the expected time the driver will actually start resting.

  • Main value — the latest calculated date and time by which the driver must start their weekly rest.

  • Progress bar — fills as the driver gets closer to the deadline and turns red if the deadline has passed.

Example: 30/08/2026 7:34 PM means the driver must start their next weekly rest no later than this date and time.


Graphs tile

The last tile provides access to the Tachograph graph and Driver’s graph.

You can use these graphs to view more detailed information about the vehicle’s tachograph data and the driver’s activities over time.

What does "NO DATA" mean?

When a tile shows NO DATA, it means the system does not have recent enough information to make a prediction. This typically happens when:

  • The vehicle's tracking device has been offline or has not sent data for a long time.

  • The prediction feature is not enabled for this vehicle.

  • No driver is assigned to the vehicle in the system.

  • The driver's tachograph card is not inserted.

"NO DATA" does not mean the driver has no driving time. It means the system cannot tell what the situation is.
