How does User Management work?
Updated over a week ago

πŸ“˜ User Management is available to existing users with administrator or unlimited access rights.

Using a single account for all operations might seem convenient, but it can quickly lead to organizational mess. On the Mapon platform, you can address these challenges by adopting multiple user profiles with varied access levels and functionalities.

It is possible to create a user with unlimited access or you can set specific permissions and accesses for users with limited rights if they have only some specific tasks to perform on Mapon.

Customize User section to match your preferences

Users can be located under tab in the main Settings.

  1. Customize which fields are visible in the user list by simply clicking on the SETTINGS button

  2. Switch to 'Custom fields' if you like to add your own columns

Access right setup options

Once the existing user which access should be limited is opened or if a new user is being created, the following steps should be done:

  • Select 'Limited rights' from the Profile settings permission 'Type' dropdown list;

  • Go to tab 'Access rights' and select 'Custom' for manual permission assignment or 'By preset' if there are already presets created.

πŸ”” Keep in mind! When customizing access rights for users, keep in mind the following:

  • Vehicles:
    It's not possible to activate a vehicle group and one unit from another group. If such an option is needed, then vehicles have to be selected one by one in the 'Select vehicle' section.

  • Drivers:
    1. Due to the technical specifications and security principles, the driver names and contact numbers can still appear in different places on the platform even though responsible user has restricted access to a specific driver.

    2. Depot-based rights make the depot field mandatory when creating a new driver, and users can only view depots permitted by their rights.
