This guide explains best practices, common issues, and how to resolve them.
Key things to keep in mind
Consult Mapon about device compatibility with HU-GO
If your vehicle is equipped not with Mapon Expert device it is recommended to consult with your Mapon Client Project Manager or Support Team about device configuration compatibility with HU-GO data processing requirements.
🔔 HU-GO processes routes and purchases toll tickets only if route coordinates are provided in chronological order.
Monitor your HU-GO account balance
If your HU-GO account balance is insufficient, ticket purchases will fail, and the issue cannot be fixed manually.
Keep Data forward from Mapon to HU-GO enabled
If disabled, historical data stored in the device memory will not be sent to HU-GO, even if data collection occurred while the integration was active.
Short signal or data loss is OK
The device saves the route and sends it when online again. HU-GO can buy missed road segments later.
Tell drivers about the onboard unit (OBU)
Drivers should be aware that tickets are purchased automatically to avoid confusion if stopped by authorities.
HU-GO Integration issues & solutions
GPS signal lost
How it works:
The HU-GO platform has a built-in routing system to handle GPS signal loss and compensate for missing data. If GPS data is lost but later restored, HU-GO will attempt to route the vehicle retroactively and buy the necessary toll tickets.
What to do:
If GPS never returns for the relevant trip segment, follow HU-GO/Mapon manual troubleshooting steps for persistent GPS failures.
Mobile network lost
How it works:
Tracking devices store route data in memory when coverage is lost. Once online, they upload the data and HU-GO purchases the road segments. Data can be sent up to 5 days after the vehicle used the toll road.
What to do:
Wait for the data to sync once the vehicle is back online. If data is missing after 5 days, contact Mapon Support Team for assistance.
Skipping report notification
🔔 Skipping report notification does not necessarily mean a fine must be paid.
It only indicates that when a stationary or mobile camera checked the HU-GO database, no valid ticket was found for that vehicle at that moment.
Steps to troubleshoot a skipping report notification:
Check real-time vehicle routes in the Mapon platform
Ensure the GPS tracking device is functioning correctly (vehicle location is accurate, no straight lines instead of routes, vehicle is not marked black ('No data') etc.).
Verify if data sending to HU-GO is enabled
Navigate to
Integrations → HU-GO toll system and check the status.
🚨 If it was turned off, DO NOT turn it on right away. Contact Mapon Support to send data manually. Enabling it now will prevent historical data from being sent, and fines will become unavoidable.
Confirm road segments are purchased in HU-GO
Data transmission can be delayed, meaning the skipping report notification might be received before the system registers the payment.
📘 If route data was delivered late (e.g., due to mobile signal loss), HU-GO may take up to 5 days to process it.
Ensure the OBU ID and PIN match between Mapon and HU-GO
If these details do not match, no toll roads will be purchased. Before making changes, resolve any unpaid toll roads first. Contact Mapon Support for further guidance.
