A Workspace is a shared communication space between the driver and specific departments within the company, ensuring simultaneous communication between multiple persons.
Users, who are added to a workspace, will be able to see what other users have communicated with the mobile employees about. Medium and large companies typically have two or more workspaces that are used to separate communication between Logistics, Technical, or Accounting departments, etc.
The feature is very similar to the group chat, but the main advantage is that you don't need to create a new group with each driver, or field worker, every time you need to send a message from a specific department. The user can create a workspace and add their colleagues from the department to it at any time.
Use Case
Let's take the HR and Logistics departments as an example. There are several people working in each of these departments, but the communication between the mobile employees and each of the departments must be confidential.
Standard communication tools would require creating a separate chat group between each mobile worker and an HR employee. The issue here is that other employees from the same department also need to see or at least be aware of this conversation to be informed on the ongoing processes, for instance, in case some of the users go on vacation.
So, if you create a workspace for the Logistics department with five people in it, all of them will see what the mobile employee wrote to the department and will be able to answer the incoming message.
