How to analyse switch usage in Reports

Updated this week

Get detailed analytics by time, distance, counts, and context; export results when needed.

Find your report

To analyse switch usage in Reports, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Reports → Additional devices.

  2. Choose one of the four primary reports described here:

📘 If you’re using a switch-based solution that has its own report, please look for it using the Search bar in the Reports section or review the dedicated guide for that solution.

Accessory switch

Best for: Event list and summary across a chosen period.

  • Select vehicle(s) and accessory switch(es).

  • Choose the period.

  • (Optional) Set filters: minimum duration and minimum distance while active.

  • Enable/disable additional columns, for example:

    • Vehicle title

    • Address

    • Distance

    • Fuel consumed (if available)

    • CO₂ emitted (if emissions are set in vehicle settings)

  • Export the results to Excel/PDF or print as needed.

Accessory switch (by days)

Best for: Clear day-by-day overview with a visual timeline.

  • Choose how to view data:

    • 'Switch activity by days' tab – daily activity by vehicle with a timeline.

    • 'Accessory switch' tab – combined list view for multiple vehicles/switches (almost same as Accessory switch report).

  • In both views you can see:

    • Start and end addresses

    • Distance while active

    • Total active time

  • In the 'Switch activity by days' tab, use the timeline to see exactly when the switch was active during each day. You can also check the maximum speed during switch activity and the total standing time while inactive.

✅ The Distance, Time, Max speed and Standing time columns can be shown or hidden using the gear icon in the top-right corner.

  • In the 'Accessory switch' tab, the driver is also shown (if driver data is available), along with fuel consumption and objects (if they are created).

  • The 'Switch activity by days' tab can be exported to Excel and PDF; the 'Accessory switch' tab can be exported to Excel.

Accessory switch (month)

Best for: Monthly roll-up per vehicle and per switch.

  1. Select the month and the switch you want to analyse.

  2. Choose your analysis metric: time, count (number of switch activations), or distance.

  3. Enable or disable columns to view:

    • Totals: shows or hides totals per day for all vehicles and totals per month by vehicle.

    • Vehicle Make/Model: displays the information entered in the Vehicle settings.

  4. If needed, export the data to Excel or print as needed.

Switch usage in objects

Best for: Analysing switch activity inside specific Objects (geofences).

  • Select vehicle(s), object(s), switch(es), and period.

  • View a table with:

    • Vehicle

    • Object

    • Switch name

    • Activity period ('From' and 'To')

    • Time (switch activity time per event)

    • Distance (travelled with active switch) – click the blue distance value to see the starting and ending points on the interactive map.

  • Export the results to Excel/PDF or print as needed.
