Is everything a vehicle?
In the platform, most tracked assets are referred to as vehicles. This is the term you will see most often in the interface.
However, not everything tracked in the system is technically a vehicle.
In some cases, companies also track other types of assets, such as:
Construction machinery (excavators, loaders, cranes)
Farming equipment (tractors, harvesters)
Containers or other valuable equipment
Even in these cases, the platform may still refer to them as vehicles.
Sometimes, you may also see the term unit. This is a more general word that refers to any tracked asset in the system. It is used less often, but it means the same tracked object.
In some parts of the platform, you may also see the word “car.” This is sometimes used as a general label for tracked assets. Even if it says car, it can still refer to any tracked asset, not only vehicles.
Vehicle types
The platform also lets you specify the “type” for each asset. In the vehicle's settings, in the "General" tab, you can indicate what kind of vehicle or asset it is.
📘Even though it is often called "vehicle type", it can also apply to other tracked assets. This simply helps categorize and organize the assets you have in the platform.
