FAQ — Volkswagen Group OEM integration

What does the basic OEM package include, and what data can be sent and received?

Currently, when adding vehicles in the integration, the vehicles will automatically be connected to our basic OEM package that offers:

Data

Includes

Basic package

  • Live location data (if supported)

  • Routes data

  • Route history

  • Mileage

  • Ignition value

Is it possible to get a lower tier of the OEM package?

It is possible get a lower tier of the OEM package which only supports location without it being live. Location will only be recorded on stop and ignition off positions.

Reach out to our support team or your account manager for more information.

Data

Includes

Lower tier package

  • Location set when stopped and ignition off

  • Routes data

  • Route history

  • Mileage

  • Ignition value

Is it possible to have two different tiers of the OEM package?

Your whole fleet can only have one tier.

Either your whole fleet uses the basic OEM package, or your whole fleet uses the lower tier OEM package.

If my vehicle does not support live location, is it charged as lower tier?

If you have the basic OEM package (live location tier), but in your fleet there is a vehicle that does not support live location due to vehicle capability limitations:

The vehicle will still be charged as the subscription of the basic OEM package (live location data tier), but it will only provide the location data when it's stopped and the ignition is off. Your whole fleet can only have one tier.

Can I request to obtain other data from my vehicles?

If you are interested in receiving any other data that is available from your vehicles, (such as energy levels, cursing range, maintenance data, charging state, remaining charge time, dashboard error lights, etc.), please reach out to our support team or account manager requesting that specific data with its use case if possible.

Is my vehicle billed if it hasn't become "Active" yet?

Your vehicles will not have an active subscription unless they have the "Active" status. If your vehicle has not reached the "Active" status and has entered the "Error" status, it is still not active, and it will not be billed yet.

If your vehicle enters the "Error" status after being in the "Active" status, it will be billed.

If I deactivate a vehicle mid-month, will I still be charged?

When connected, you would be billed for the rest of the month, starting from the connection date.

For example:

  • If the connection date was 15.05, and the last day of the month is 30.05.

  • Billed: 15.05 - 30.05

When disconnecting, the billing status will remain active till the end of the calendar month.

For example:

  • The vehicle was connected, but was disconnected 15.06

  • Billed: 01.06 - 31.06

The vehicle after disconnection will not send data but will remain as paid.
If re-activated during the same month, there will be no additional charge, just the same month’s payment.

What happens if vehicle does not have signal?

If the vehicle does not have a connection, it will not be possible to collect the data. As Volkswagen Group Info Services acts solely as a data processor, we are unable to provide location data in cases where the vehicle loses connectivity.
