Volkswagen Group OEM integration

The Volkswagen Group OEM integration allows companies to connect eligible Volkswagen Group vehicles to the Mapon platform without installing additional GPS tracking hardware.

Traditional GPS tracking usually requires installing hardware in each vehicle which can involve scheduling installation time, bringing vehicles to a service point, coordinating technicians, and taking vehicles out of daily operations.

The Volkswagen Group OEM integration is built directly into the vehicle’s factory-installed telematics system, there’s no need to install additional tracking hardware or go through the usual installation process. Vehicles can be connected remotely, helping companies save time, avoid installation costs, and reduce downtime.

Supported vehicles

The integration supports vehicles from Volkswagen Group brands, including:

  • Volkswagen Passenger Cars

  • Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles

  • Audi

  • Škoda

  • SEAT

  • CUPRA

This makes it especially useful for companies that already operate Volkswagen Group vehicles or plan to add them to their fleet.

📘 Availability may depend on the vehicle brand, model, model year, equipment, market, and data-sharing settings.

🔔 Some vehicles may require specific privacy or data-sharing settings to be enabled before data can be received in Mapon.

Fleet owners are also responsible for ensuring that they have the required legal basis and user consent for processing vehicle and driver-related data.

What does the integration do?

The Volkswagen Group OEM integration connects Mapon with Volkswagen Group vehicle data through a secure cloud-to-cloud connection.

After the integration is activated and the vehicle is added, Mapon can receive those vehicles' information directly from the manufacturer’s systems.

🔔 The integration data capabilities depend on vehicle make, model, configuration settings, as well as the data tier connected.

This gives fleet managers a practical overview of how vehicles are used, where they are located, and when they may require attention — without arranging hardware installation for each vehicle.
