What's the difference between deactivating a vehicle in Asset Management and removing it from tracking?

By disconnecting the vehicle from the subscription fee and leaving the device in the vehicle, the device physically continues to operate, but you do not see any data from the device. Therefore, no Mapon service fees are applied to the vehicle.

By deactivating the vehicle from the subscription fee and removing the device for an undetermined period of time, it physically does not work and does not send data, but it will still be listed in the system under the vehicle it has been installed on. And as long as it is deactivated, no Mapon service fees apply to the vehicle.

🚨 If the device is removed from the vehicle and not used for more than a year, this may result in the SIM being blocked, which is ensuring that data is sent to the server.

πŸ”” Keep in mind! During the period when the subscription is disabled, the vehicle's historical data will also not be available to you.

If you have requested Mapon Client Support to remove the vehicle from tracking permanently, the device is uninstalled in the system, storing all historical data about the vehicle in your Mapon account.

It is recommended that you only request this action if the device is permanently removed from the vehicle, moved to another vehicle, or the vehicle is sold with the device.
